I'm getting ready to hit the road tomorrow! My Vinnie needs her Grammy!!!

We had a behind the scene tour of the Miami Zoo. It was so awrsime!! I got to feed a Rhino up close! He was so sweet and gentle!!!

Judy I am so sad that a tenet may have stolen your kitchen aide mixer out of the club house!!! How sad that someone is that low to do that!!!

I got mine for a shower gift. I think they paid 299.00 for it 35 years ago. I have baught some attachments for it. But u know I don't use it anymore. I tend to use my portable kitchen aide more. Same thing but easier.

Well my medicine is calling me and my Keurig is calling me too!!

Good morning Carla and all my wonderful sistas!

Carla, I swear, you burn up the road (and airways) more than any other person I know!  I love reading your travel adventures!  Feeding a rhino?  Wow!

Okay, gang, I am up and Thriving this morning.  Grammylew's daughter is a dealer for this product called Thrive.  She sent me a 3 day sample.  Carolyn says it stopped her craving for sweet stuff in its tracks.  So I'm trying it.  I took the two pills right as I woke up.  Now I'm drinking the shake.  I have to say, I feel super alert and energetic already.  Next I'll take my shower and then apply the patch for the day.  We'll see how it goes.  Connie and Judy, I'll post updates for y'all okay?  And if anyone else wants to try it, I'll PM you Carolyn's email.  (Carolyn is a WLS sista who used to post here, but hasn't in quite some time.  But we're still friends on FB.)

I didn't get to talk to Carrie last night.  She texted me that she was okay, but just didn't feel like talking about everything yet.  I wrote back that I didn't like it, but I understood, and would wait for her to call me.  I can't imagine what is going on to upset her like that unless they broke up!  I'm in anxious Mama Bear mode about her right now.

I called and made a doctor's appointment for myself and Butch on Thursday.  I need to find out what the heck is going on with my left arm/shoulder, and Butch needs his diabetes check up.  I also finally got my well woman exam scheduled for April.  I was supposed to go this month, but we were in Houston almost all of February, so I'm a little late with it.

Well, do y'all believe in serendipity?  For the past couple of months, I've been getting these daily emails from San Antonio real estate about new houses on the market, etc.  I haven't opened a single one of them.  Then yesterday afternoon, for some reason, I opened the email and bam! There it was.  The perfect little house for us.  I've already got a call into our realtor to get an appointment to go see it.  It's only a few blocks from where Christie and the boys live, it's the perfect size, a great price, and it already has a walk-in bathtub for Butch.  The only fly in the ointment would be what to do with my mom.  But I'll worry about that after we go see the house.  If I like it as much in person as I do on-line, I'll decide what to do about my mom then.  I mean, she can live with us, as far as I'm concerned, but we would be in north San Antonio at that location, and there are lots more senior living options there.  Anyway, I'm fairly excited about it.  As Butch said yesterday, this will be a house for me, more than anything else.  I do have to think about my personal needs, as well as my husband's and my mom's.  I will be the one living there for years to come.

Today is Texas Independence Day.  Doesn't mean much if you're not from this state, but it has personal meaning to me.  My 5x's great grandfather fought again Santa Anna in the Texas War for Independence in 1836.  My Texas roots run deep!  We were here long before Tejas was Texas.  Y'all will just have to forgive me for being so obnoxious about Texas all the time.  LOL!

Well, time to shower and slap on my Thrive patch for the day.  Love you all!

 Vickie

Good MOrning Ladies! Carla - On The Road Again must be your theme song! You must have a lot of stamina to do so much traveling. Did you get around as much in your pre -op days?? Connie, I'm so glad you are feeling good today! Wonder if it's that Thrive, or the fact that you have been home for a few days. Probably the latter! I hope you get a chance to speak with Carrie. Myo daughter is going through relationship issues now, but I only get to communicate thru e-mail on personal issues, for reasons I won't get into right now. ........ Got to go for now. Sending out positive vibes to everyone. The countdown to Spring has begun!!

Happy Monday ladies!

I had my endoscopy and colonoscopy this morning.  All went well, a few minor issues found but nothing major.  I am still pretty loopy from the anesthesia so I will be back later!

Carla,, love hearing about your travels!

Vickie, so great to hear such energy in your post!  Happy Texas Independence Day!

Hugs

Good Evening Carla and OFF,

I am finally home.  Tired, sick, and so very grateful, but I am home.

Vickie, I hope this house is the one.  You're going to like living close to the boys, and if there are senior living options nearby would be great.

Connie, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well today.  Hope you feel better tomorrow.

The drive home was fine.  Clear roads, and little traffic.  Got home, and couldn't get the heater going for an hour.  I basically had to reprogram the thermostat.  I had it set for 60 degrees, so my pipes wouldn't freeze.  I got home about 90 minutes before sunset, and the sun was bright, making the house seems warmer than it was, but I was getting worried I'd have to call Trent, with Colleen working tonight.  Plus, my head was killing me, and my pouch felt like it was being stabbed all at the same time.  I just wasn't well enough to watch the Munchkins while he came here, as much as I missed him.

I'm feeling better now and the house is almost warm enough.  I had an overstuffed mailbox, and am too tired to open one envelope.

Must scoot.

Love,

Trish
